While growing up I lived across from a lady that raised standard
poodles. I became a fixture on her doorstep. She taught me
how to show, groom and take care of show dogs. She also let me
train one of her standard poodles in obedience and got my first
obedience title when I was 15.
I purchased my first Gordon Setter in 1970. It was male named
Brandy and was a pet. I had really been looking for an Irish
Setter but was convinced by a friend to look at the Gordon. I fell
in love with the Black and Tan and have never looked back. My
first show Gordon was a dog named Tyson. He was my first Champion.
Since then I have enjoyed breeding, showing and training my Gordons.
I currently have a male (Tank) and female (Amber) from the last litter I
breed. I finished both from the Bred By class and they are
currently both training for agility.
We purchased our Welsh Springer Spaniel in 2006. We wanted a
smaller breed and my husband wanted one for companionship and to train
in agility. I finished Tucker's championship in January 2009 and
he is now running agility. He is an energetic boy and absolutely
loves agility. We are looking forward to competing with him for a
long time.
